John Wesley Gaff is the son of Catherine Egolf and William Gaff. He was born 3 November 1854 in Noble county, Indiana. He died 9 May 1894 at age 39 in Albion, Noble, Indiana. He is buried at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam, Noble, Indiana.

On 13 November 1881, at age 27, he married Joanna Hosler, who was age 27 also, in Noble county, Indiana. She is the daughter of Henry Rohrbach Hosler and Lydia Hoffman. She was born 5 May 1854 in Morrow county, Ohio. She died 14 February 1915 at age 60 in Noble county, Indiana. She is buried at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam, Noble, Indiana.

1. Milo Marion Gaff was born 28 January 1883 in Green, Nobel, Indiana.
2. Enlo Grover Gaff was born 10 December 1884 in Green, Noble, Indiana. Known as Grover, he died 4 November 1903 at age 18 in Green, Noble, Indiana. He is buried at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam, Noble, Indiana.
3. Levi Arby Gaff was born 4 May 1889 in Green, Noble, Indiana. He and Leo are twins.
4. Leo Harvey Gaff was born 4 May 1889 in Green, Noble, Indiana. He and Levi are twins.

Notes

John's birth and death dates are a little iffy. The birth date is calculated from the death date. But the death is not totally clear. Neither for that matter is his age at death. The best I can say is that he was born sometime around the dates shown.

Joanna had one son, Dennis Edward Reed, prior to her marriage to John Gaff. The child is referred to as Ed in Joanna's obituary.
