Alonzo Egolf is the son of Henry S. Egolf and Malinda Garrison. He was born 26 Jan 1870 in Whitley County, Indiana. He died 15 Aug 1920 at age 50 in Smith twp, Whitley, Indiana. He is buried at Hively Cemetery, Columbia City, Whitely, Indiana.

On 5 Apr 1896, he married Cora Viola Hazen in Whitley County, Indiana. She is the daughter of George Hazen and Lucinda Pence. She was born 9 May 1877 in Smith twp, Whitley, Indiana. She died 28 Apr 1934 at age 56 in Whitley County, Indiana. She is buried at Hively Cemetery, Columbia City, Whitely, Indiana. After Alonzo's death she married Lloyd Patterson.

While family tradition says Alonza and Cora had four children, both the 1900 census (Thorncreek, Whitley, Indiana. p. 145) and 1910 census (Smith, Whitley, IN. p. 137) indicate Cora had only given birth to one child.
