Herbert Frisby Egolf is the son of Charles Wesley Egolf and Mary Jane Armstrong. Sometimes known as Fid, he was born 21 May 1871 in Indiana. He died 18 February 1956 at age 84 in Sanders county, Montana. He is buried at Murray Memorial Cemetery, Lonepine, Sanders, Montana.

In 1900/1901, when he was age 28, he married Sarah Jane Hyre, who was age 17. She is the daughter of Virgil Hyre and Emma Jane Haynes. She was born 25 May 1882 in Indiana. She died 13 March 1962 at age 79 in Sanders county, Montana. She is buried at Murray Memorial Cemetery, Lonepine, Sanders, Montana.
