Leo Harvey Gaff is the son of John Wesley Gaff and Joanna Hosler. He was born 4 May 1889 in Green, Noble, Indiana. He and his brother Levi are twins. He died 20 March 1958 at age 68 in Auburn, De Kalb, Indiana. He is buried at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam, Noble, Indiana.

On 11 May 1912, at age 23, he married Florence Navada Ott, who was age 23, in Noble county, Indiana. She is the daughter of John Ott and Martha Elizabeth Manning. She was born 21 January 1889 in Noble, Noble, Indiana. She died in March 1979 at age 90. She is buried at Christian Chapel Cemetery, Merriam, Noble, Indiana.
