Susan Myrtle Shriner is the daughter of John Morgan Shriner and Mary Catherine Zeller. Myrtle, as she is known, was born 9 April 1882 in Whitley County, Indiana.

• About 1900 to 1905, she married Mr. Bordner. This marriage ended in divorce in October 1907.
• On 19 August 1912, she married Victor Charles Severance in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana. Charles, as he is known, is the son of Francis Marion Severance and Mary Regenia Backus. He was born 9 September 1867 in Franklin, Johnson, Indiana. He died 4 April 1939 at age 71 in Indianapolis, Marion, Indiana.
