He married Cleo Alice Spohn. She is the daughter of Clarence Spohn and Lena Breneman. She was born 22 June 1908 in North Manchester, Wabash, Indiana. She died 14 July 1930 of a ruptured appendix at age 22 in Fort Wayne, Allen, Indiana. She is buried at South Park Cemetery Annex, Columbia twp, Whitley County, Indiana.
