Nellie M. Hively is the daughter of Henry Clay Hively and Vallona L. Brown. She was born about 27 November 1872 in Indiana. She died 2 March 1902 at age 29 probably from complications of childbirth. She is buried at Lake Creek Cemetery, Bartlett, Labette, Kansas.

About 1899, she married Walter Elijah Leap probably in Kansas. He is the son of George E. Leap and Matilda Quimby. He was born 23 January 1874 in Chetopa, Labette, Kansas. He died 24 April 1962 at age 88. He is buried at Saint Joseph's Cemetery, Rawlins, Carbon, Wyoming.
