Sarah Elsie Rockhill is the daughter of Martha Shriner and Edward C. Rockhill. She was born in September 1864 in Indiana.

On 21 April 1886, she married Hugh de Boldbeck Darrah in Marshall county, Iowa. He is the son of Hugh Darrah and Ann. He was born in July 1864 in Iowa.

1. Dale Kenneth Darrah was born 29 July 1894 in Gilman, Marshall, Iowa. He died 18 August 1948 at age 54 probably in Iowa.
   • On 1 September 1921, at age 27, he married Gertrude E. Minor, who was age 24, in Marshalltown, Marshall, Iowa. She is the daughter of Robert L. Minor and Harriet Newell Ford. She was born 6 June 1897 in Marion, Linn, Iowa. She died in March 1976 at age 78 in Marshalltown, Marshall, Iowa. After Dale's death, she married Edgar Brenner.
2. Martha E. Darrah was born 27 September 1896 in Marshall county, Iowa.
3. Sarah Esther Darrah was born 27 September 1896 in Marshall county, Iowa. She died prior to the 1900 census.

Notes

In the 1900 and 1910 censuses, Sarah indicates that she had given birth to four children, only two of whom were still living. We do not know the name of the fourth child.
