On 7 June 1936, he married Grace M. Joseph in Onekama, Manistee, Michigan. She is the daughter of Albert Joseph and Della Humes. She was born 9 February 1908 in Marilla, Manistee, Michigan. She died 8 December 2003 at age 95 in Traverse City, Grand Traverse, Michigan. On 13 December 2003, she was buried at Sherman Mesick Cemetery, Mesick, Wexford, Michigan.
