Gracie B. Giesy, 98, of Lancaster, passed away Sunday, Oct. 15, 2006, at Lanfair Care Center.

Grace was born May 6, 1908, in Basil, the daughter of Jacob and Nettie Kasser. She was a member of Fairfield Christian Church and the Garden Club. She was a Brownie and Girl Scout Leader and worked for Hickle's Department Stores.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Annetta M. and Richard T. Cochran; son and daughter-in-law, Larry R. and Mary Ellen Giesy; grandchildren, Douglas T. Giesy, Tyler D. Giesy, Kay Cee Giesy, Richard S. (Angel) Cochran, Scott E. Cochran and Joseph P. Cochran.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Verrene E. Giesy. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the chapel of Halteman-Fett & Dyer Funeral Home, with Pastor Mark Barbee officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
