Harold Davis Biggs Obituary

PANHANDLE - Harold Davis Biggs, 86, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2001.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in First Baptist Church with the Rev. Kathryn Boren, pastor of First United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Panhandle Cemetery by Minton/Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mr. Biggs was born Sept. 13, 1915, at Panhandle. He graduated from Panhandle High School and served as a flight instructor in the Army Air Corps during World War II. A lifelong cattleman and farmer, he retired from the Pantex Plant as a production stores warehouse foreman in 1979. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Panhandle. He married Vivian O'Neal on July 3, 1936, at Panhandle.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Vaughn and Nola Biggs, Panhandle pioneers, and his brother, Raymond Biggs.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Jerry Biggs and wife, Judy, of Panhandle; a daughter, Jean Walker of Panhandle; two sisters, Myra Mathias of Arlington and Virginia Pruitt, and husband, Merl, of Odessa; a brother, Jim Biggs and wife, Betty, of Panhandle; four grandchildren, Ryan Biggs and wife, Amy, of Suwanee, Ga., Ric Biggs and Clint Walker, both of Panhandle, and Sarah Sturm and husband, Matt, of Bloomington, Ind.; and a great-grandchild, Halee Biggs of Suwanee.

The family suggests memorials be to First Baptist Church of Panhandle.
