Raymond Biggs

Raymond Biggs, 80, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 29, 2000.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in First Baptist Church in Panhandle with Dr. Doug Harvey, of First Christian Church in Panhandle, Dr. Dana Moore, of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Amarillo, and Dr. Jim Perkins of First Baptist Church in Panhandle, officiating.

Mr. Biggs was born in Panhandle. He served in the Navy during World War II and also served in the Coast Guard. He farmed in Panhandle before moving to Amarillo in 1980.

Mr. Biggs was a 32nd Degree Mason and a Shriner. He was a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church. He also was a member of the Waggs Motor Home Club.

He married Maxine Bender in 1948 at Panhandle. She died in 1981. He married Lois Carroll in 1992 at Amarillo.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Cheryl Ann Biggs Daniel of Amarillo and Jessie Raylene Biggs Pruitt of Canyon; a son, Frank David Biggs of Panhandle; a stepdaughter, Charlotte Riddell of Childress; four stepsons, Gordan Wayne Carroll of Amarillo, Bob J. Carroll of Bossier City, La., Kenneth Carroll of Amarillo and Ricci Carroll of Corpus Christi; two sisters, Virginia Pruitt of Odessa and Myra Mathias of Arlington; two brothers, Harold Biggs and Jim Biggs, both of Panhandle; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to BSA Hospice, P.O. Box 950, Amarillo, TX 79176-0001.
