Christine Coffman Scott

Sinks Grove-Christine Coffman Scott, 83, passed away Monday, Dec. 1, 2008, at the Greenbrier Manor Nursing Home, Fairlea, after a short illness.

Born Dec. 12, 1924, in Lewisburg, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mildred Johnson Coffman.

Mrs. Scott was a lifelong resident of Sinks Grove. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church, Sinks Grove, a faithful member of the CEOS (formerly Homemakers) of Fort Spring, and was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herbert L. Scott, and sister, Emma Virginia Coffman.

Survivors include her son, Herbert Scott of Sinks Grove.

Services were held Thursday, Dec. 4, at the Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church where Rev. Patrick Ferrell officiated.

Burial was in the Coffman Cemetery, Coffman Cemetery Road, Lewisburg. Pallbearers were: David Miller, Jim King, Willard Humphreys, Willis Humphreys, Rusty Hedrick, Mike McCarty and Honorary pallbearer, Freddy Longanacre.

Visitation was held Wednesday, Dec. 3, at the Longanacre Funeral Home, Fort Spring and at the church one hour prior to the service on Thursday.
