[Pantagraph, Bloomington, IL, January 12, 2010] Hortense 'Betty' Weinzierl DANVERS - Hortense E. Betty Weinzierl, 90, Bloomington, formerly of Danvers, passed away at 10:25 a.m. Sunday (Jan. 10, 2010) at the Martin Health Center, Bloomington. Her funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Patricks Catholic Church, 1209 W. Locust St., Bloomington. Father David Whiteside will officiate. Burial will at Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home, Bloomington, with the rosary to be recited at 6:30 p.m., and from 9:30 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials may be made to Alzheimers research or St. Patricks Catholic Church, Bloomington. Betty was born July 1, 1919, in Danvers, the daughter of Lyle S. and Hortense E. Burdette Stuckey. She married Victor E. Weinzierl on Aug. 24, 1940, in Bloomington. He died April 18, 1997. Surviving are three children, Jon E. (Susan) Weinzierl, Tampa, Fla.; Vicki A. (Scott) Shroyer, Normal; and Mary S. (Larry) Rapp, Danvers; one brother, John E. Jack (Irene) Stuckey, Danvers; six grandchildren, Sarah (Eric) Pellenbarg, Tampa, Fla.; Elizabeth (fiance, Steve) Weinzierl, Menlo Park, Calif.; Barbara (Alan) Burkhard, Wheaton; Rebecca (fiance, Richard) Shroyer, Bozeman, Mont.; Michelle (Eric) Reutter, Minonk; and Susan Rapp, Aurora; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents. Betty was a member of St. Patricks Catholic Church, Bloomington. Betty attended Danvers schools and graduated from Bloomington High School. She attended ISNU. She was a homemaker and farmed with her husband, Victor. She served on the Danvers Community School Board. She worked at State Farm Insurance Cos. for a time.
