Elizabeth Jane "Libby" Davidson

ELIZABETH JANE "LIBBY" DAVIDSON, 83, passed away Friday, Feb. 10, 2012, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2012, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton, with the Rev. Allen Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville. She was born May 14, 1928, in Monroe County, W.Va.

Libby was preceded in death by her best friend and husband of 60 years, O. Clifford "Cliff" Davidson Jr. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Guy Frederick Hedrick and Laura Eva Burdette Hedrick; and one brother, Dr. Harold Hedrick.

Surviving are one brother and two sisters-in-law, John and Madge Hedrick of Alderson, W.Va., and Virginia Katherine Hedrick of Columbia, Mo. Libby is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth Anne and Richard Paskell of Culloden, W.Va., and Linda and Chuck Gullakson of Jacksonville, Fla. Also surviving are her dearly loved grandchildren, Beth Anne and Rick Teubner, and great-granddaughter, Ella Marie Teubner of Lebanon, Ohio; Emily Paskell of Denton, Texas; Dane Gullakson and Meredith Gullakson of Jacksonville, Fla.

She was a graduate of Marshall College and retired after 33 years as a seventh-grade life-science teacher at Milton Junior High School. An active member of Milton Baptist Church, she served in various ministries throughout her life, most recently as Love Gift chairman of American Baptist Women's Ministries. She was a member of the Covered Bridge Garden Club and 20th Century Club. Her home was always a picture of hospitality. She was a talented seamstress, quilter and avid gardener. She showed her enjoyment of nature by watching and feeding the native birds.

Friends may call from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 13, 2012, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
