Charles Scott Hedrick

RUPERT - Charles Scott Hedrick, 85, of Rupert died Dec. 11, 2003, at Rupert following a short illness.

Born June 19, 1918, in Sinks Grove, he was a son of the late Everette Lee and Loxie Scott Hedrick. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Hedrick; a sister, Lois Harding; and two great-grandsons, Chad Fleeman and Justin Winfrey.

Mr. Hedrick was a farmer and a retired truck driver from Chemical Leaman Tank Lines.

He was of the Christian faith and a member of the Teamsters Union and the Rupert Rod & Gun Club.

Survivors include his wife, Gladys Hunter Hedrick; five daughters, Geraldine L. Jacobs of Hurricane, Gladys Carroll Gibson, Sandra Ann Walkup, Ruth Lynn Hanson and Debra Gaye Deitz, all of Rupert; one son, Marvin Lewis Hedrick of Rupert; two sisters, Emma Jane Irons of Lewisburg, Ora Lee Hastings of Indianapolis; 23 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 15, at Wallace & Wallace Funeral Home, Rainelle, with Pastor Claude Dennis Morrello Jr. and Pastor Youel Altizer officiating. Burial will follow in Mount Pleasants Church Cemetery, Sinks Grove.
