Glen Weston Gaff Obituary

Glen W. Gaff, 91, died February 5, 2011, at Golden Years Homestead Retirement Community in Fort Wayne. Born in Auburn, IN, Mr. Gaff was the son of the late Leo and Nevada (Ott) Gaff. He lived his life as a loving husband, dedicated father and nurturing grand and great-grandfather. He was a faithful member of the Avalon Missionary Church. In 1984, after 25 years of service as a master electrician, Mr. Gaff retired from General Electric, Fort Wayne Broadway Plant. In retirement he focused on passing on his woodworking and electrical skills to his grandchildren, and on building many fine pieces of furniture which now grace the homes of his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Enlo Gaff. Mr. Gaff is survived by his wife of almost 64 years, Helen (Allman) Gaff, originally from Anderson, IN; his sister-in-law Ruthanna Gaff, Fort Wayne, IN; his daughters Carol Gaff, New Haven, IN, and Janet Gaff, Batavia, IL; his son Dale and daughter-in-law Suzanne Gaff, Little River, SC; his grandsons Douglas Gaff and wife Brenda Hooper Gaff, Milton, MA, Daniel Gaff and wife Jennifer Hurley, Alameda, CA, and Jonathon Gaff, Batavia, IL; and his great-granddaughter Delia Gaff, Milton, MA.

Service is 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 9, 2011, at D.O. McComb and Sons Covington Knolls Funeral Home 8325 Covington Rd with Reverend Kerry Huffman officiating .The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at the funeral home. Burial at Covington Memorial Gardens.
