Descendants of Peter Shriner
Mrs. Ella P. Fisher, 79, of 102 Collinwood avenue, the wife of Lewis G. Fisher, retired local building contractor, died at 4:30 a.m. today at Memorial Hospital where she had been a patient since December 27 following a stroke of apoplexy. Although she was the victim of a heart attack in March 1967 she recovered sufficiently, following hospitalization at that time, to continue with her home work, until she was stricken. She failed to regain consciousness after entering the hospital. Mrs. Fisher was a native of Thorncreek Township and was born March 9, 1888, a daughter of Reuben and Mary Kaufman King. After completing her education in the Hoop school in Thorncreek Township, she was united in marriage on April 11, 1909 to Lewis G. Fisher. They established their first home on the Henry Miller farm in Thorncreek Township and after two years they moved to Raber where they resided the following year. They then moved to Columbia City where they have since made their home. Since 1912 they have resided in the same home on Collinwood avenue. She was a member of First Church of God and the Womens Christian Service Council of the church. The surviving relatives in addition to her husband, Lewis G, Fisher, include two sons, Earl W. Fisher, Maple Ave., an employee of the city light dept. and Dale E. Fisher, Hilltop Drive, a local building contractor; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and her twin sister, Mrs. Bessie Bair, Thorncreek Township. Two brothers, John and Charles King have preceded her in death. The body is at the Smith and Sons Funeral Home where friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday. The Rev Hubert Miller, pastor of the First Church of God and Rev. Thomas Douglas will officiate at the funeral service to be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the funeral home. Committal services and burial will follow the funeral home rites in the Nolt Cemetery. |
