Eloise Cheney

ADA - Eloise Cheney, 81, of Kenton, and formerly of Ada, died at 1:20 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2001, at Lima Memorial Hospital. She was born Nov. 22, 1919, in Quaker City to Charles and Theresa (Gallager) Knight. She married Rosslyn Vance Cheney on Dec. 2, 1938, and he died May 24, 1999.

Surviving are a son, Robert of Adrian, Mich.; a daughter, Mrs. Alfred (Suzanne) Sawyer, Ada; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Karl Knight; and four sisters, Gertrude Conner, Julia Edwards, and Eleanor and Helen Thomas.

Mrs. Cheney was a homemaker. She was a former member of United Methodist Church, Quaker City.

Private family graveside services will be held Thursday at Woodlawn Cemetery, Ada, the Rev. Wesley Clark officiating. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Arrangements are by Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
