Karl Nelson Outcalt, age 86, of Mount Vernon, died Monday March 4, 2002 at the Knox Community Hospital in Mount Vernon. Karl was born January 10, 1916 in Columbus to James Milton Outcalt and Callie (Shriner) Outcalt and had lived in Columbus, Pleasantville and Mount Vernon.

Karl was retired from the City Savings and Loan in Mount Vernon. He was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Mount Vernon, was a 60 year member of the Pleasant Valley Lodge #531 Free and Accepted Masons in Pleasantville, Ohio and was a member of the Mount Vernon Elks Lodge.

Surviving are his wife Imogene Maude (Griffith) Outcalt whom he married September 17, 1938; two sons Milton (Jan) Outcalt of Lewis Center and Joseph (Cathie) Outcalt of Atlanta, Georgia; 4 grandsons and two step grandchildren.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by a brother Franklin Outcalt and a sister Maxine Mosier.

Services will be Saturday at 3 PM at the Flowers-Snyder Funeral Home in Mount Vernon where friends may call an hour prior. The Rev. J. Mikal Outcalt will be officiating.
