CLARA MAE CORDILL

South Whitley -- CLARA MAE CORDILL, 86, died Monday at The Oaks, Columbia City. Born in Wabash County, she worked at Stump Printing in South Whitley for more than 35 years, and retired in 1974 from R.R. Donnelley & Sons Printing Co.

Her husband, Archie Roscoe, died in 1997.

Surviving are a daughter, Marcia C. Clupper of South Whitley; three sons, Richard W. of Mishawaka, Jack R. of Fort Wayne and David L. of Springfield, Ill; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a brother, Arthur Bechtold of South Whitley; and a sister, Mary Smith of Warsaw.

Services at 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith and Sons Miller Chapel, South Whitley. Calling from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Burial at South Whitley Cemetery. Memorials to the Imaging System, South Whitley-Cleveland Township Fire Department.

CLARA MAE CORDILL SOUTH WHITLEY - 1912-1999

Clara Mae Cordill, 86, of South Whitley, a charter member of The Nifty-Fifties, died Monday, May 10, 1999, at The Oaks in Columbia City.

The Wabash County native retired in 1974 from R.R. Donnelley & Sons Printing Co., had worked at Stump Printing for more than 35 years, was a member of South Whitley United Methodist Church where she had served on the administrative board, past matron of Eel River Order of Eastern Star, Duo Decem Literary Club and had also lived in Fort Wayne and Little Barbee Lake.

Surviving are a daughter, Marcia C. Clupper of South Whitley; sons Richard W. of Mishawaka, Jack R. of Fort Wayne and David L. of Springfield, Ill.; a brother, Arthur Bechtold of South Whitley; a sister, Mary Smith of Warsaw; 13 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie R., four brothers and three sisters.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Miller Chapel, South Whitley, with calling from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday. Burial will be in South Whitley Cemetery.

Memorials are to Imaging System South Whitley-Cleveland Township Fire Department.
