RAY MILLER Ray Miller, 78, Mission, died Feb. 8, 1991, at the University of Kansas Medical Center. He was born in Latham, Kan., and lived in this area for 43 years. Mr. Miller was an advertising copywriter before he retired. He served on the board of Common Cause Kansas and was a member of the Kansas City Interfaith Peace Alliance and PeaceWorks. He was a past Democratic precinct committeeman in Mission. He received a bachelor's degree in English from the University of Kansas in 1934, was a member of Phi Beta Kappa at KU, and was a Rhodes scholar at Oxford University. Survivors include his wife, Claire Katharine Miller of the home; two sons, John Miller, Houston, and Sam Miller, Stockholm, Sweden; a daughter, Cathy Miller, New York City; three brothers, Malcolm Miller, Evansville, Ind., Stanley Miller, Merriam, and Rodney Miller, Richland, Wash.; two sisters, Mary Hackney, Mission, and Betty Maurer, Overland Park; and seven grandchildren. Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Friday at the All Souls Unitarian Church; the body was donated to the KU Medical Center. The family suggests contributions to the Kansas City Interfaith Peace Alliance, PeaceWorks or Greenpeace. |
