HIVELY, Mrs. Michael -- Elizabeth Johnson was born 17 June 1827 in New Jersey and was first married to J.C. Bennett; they moved to Ohio where they lived several years before going to Kokomo, Ind. He joined the Union Army and was killed in the Battle of Arkansas Post. On 16 Oct. 1863 she married Michael Hively. In 1866 they left Columbia City and went to live in N. Manchester, Indiana. Her funeral was held in the M.E. Church of N. Manchester with the Rev. W.J. Vigus officiating. The funeral text was from 2nd Cor., 12:2. Burial was in Oak Lawn Cemetery. |
