(1). JACOB ELLER JR m. ELIZABETH GRIMES* and settled In Calloway Co., Mo., 1837. (* m.13 Nov 1826, Frederick Mo., Md.,).
Issue:
Warner*; Willard; John Thomas; Ann Maria; Martha Ann; Elizabeth. (*m. 8 May 1856, Calloway Co., MARY JANE RIDGEWAY).

(2). ELIAS ELLER (b 1805) settled Audrain Co., 1838. He m. MARY STANDERFORD* of Virginia.
(*m. 4 Max 1830, Ohio Co., W.Va.).
Issue:
Abraham; Lizzle; Eleanor H; Margaret J.; Mary A; Susan V; George E; Rachel; Joseph; William.

“HISTORY OF CALLAWAY CO (MO) .p. 860-861 ,
"WILLIAM ELLER was born 7 Apr 1833, Marshall Co., W. Va, son of ELIAS ELLER born In Maryland. His mother was MARY STANDIFORD ELLER,b. & married In Va.
About 1839 they came to Missouri and settled south of Mexico In Audrain Co. Mr. (Elias) Eller died May 1880 about 79 years old, and his wife died in 1863, about age 60.

"His brother, JACOB (JACOB ELLER JR) came to Missouri and settled In Callway Co., where he died about 1866 leaving a widow, ELIZABETH (GRIMES).

“ELIAS ELLER had a family of eight:
William, the subject; Abram who d. In May 1883, Audrain Co., age 10; Elizabeth, wife of George Haley; Ellen, now In Ky; Margaret, wife of Frank Killgore of Callaway; Mary, wife of Jess Bright, now in Montana; Susan, deceased, wife of Clifton Black of Audrain Co.; George, now of Audrain Co.

"In March 1878, William Eller (the subject) came to Callaway Co., and secured 400 acres. He fought under General (Sterling) Price, and was In the Battles of Lexington, Pea Ridge (Arkansas), and Big Black, near Vicksburg. Was captured in Vicksburg and confined 22 months on Johnson's Island.

WILL OF JACOB ELLER, III
of Cooper Co., Mo.
(son of JACOB II, and MARY BEEFLE)

Written 15 Jul 1847. Rec: 8 Nov 1847, Cooper Co., Mo.

"I, Jacob Eller of sound mind and disposing memory, but weak In body and growing In age, do make and publish this my last will and testament.

"Item lst. I will and direct that my body after death be decently buried and that all my Just debts be paid.

"Item 2nd. I will, desire and direct that my- beloved wife, SUSANNA ELLER shall have use possess and enjoy for and during the time of her natural life all of my household and kitchen furniture, farming utensils which I now have or may have at the time of my death. Also, all debts of every kind whatever due me now or which may be owed me at the time of my death. Also my waggon and three waggon horses. Also my three slaves, Polly, Daniel and Ben. Also all other property of every description whatever, which I now have or may at the time of my death, except a negro girl names Sarah whom I have heretofore given to my daughter HARRIETT WEIR (sic) and also except the machinery In thge rope walk and the horses, cattle and hogs upon the place where I now reside. which property I have heretofore given to my sons ,
DAVID, GEORGE, ROBERT & CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS . I also will and direct that my said wife shall sell the said slave named Daniel If she desire to do so and use, possess, receive and enjoy the interest on the proceeds of the purchase money of said slave during her natural life. I further will and direct that my said wife out of the property which I have willed to her as aforesaid, pay all my Just debts at the time of my death and funeral expenses of my body.

Item 3rd. I will and direct that at the death of my said wife, my son CHRISTOPHER COLUMBUS have possession, use and dispose of as his own property, the said negro boy named Ben.

Item 4th. I will and direct that at the death of my said wife, my sons DAVID, GEORGE and ROBERT , shall take and have absolutely all the property and the Increase thereof, which in Item 2nd to my said wife during her natural life, including the proceeds of the sale of the said slave named Daniel, provided my wife shall sell said slave, except the said slave named Ben disposed of In Item 3rd hereof.

Item 5th. I will and direct that at the death of my said wife, my sons DAVID , GRORGR and ROBERT , shall pay to my son JAMES ELLER the sum of one hundred dollars, to my daughter MARY HUNGERFORD the sum of one hundred dollars, and to my daughter, MARTITIA JAMISON. the sum of one hundred dollars, and In the event my sons, David, George, and Robert shall refuse to pay the said three several sums of one hundred dollars, then the property willed to them In Item 4th hereof shall be sold or a sufficient amount to produce the sum of three hundred dollars: one hundred dollars of which to be paid to the said James. one hundred dollars to be paid to the said Mary, and one hundred dollars to be paid to the said Martitia, and the balance of the property named in Item 4th or the proceeds of the sale thereof afterpaying the said three sums of one hundred dollars to belong absolutely to the said David, Robert and George.

Item 6th. I have provided herein by my will for my wife In Item 2nd. I have provided in Item 3rd hereof for Christopher Columbus. I have provided In Item 4th hereof for my sons, David, George, and Robert, and I have provided in Item 5th hereof for my son James, for my daughter Mary and Martitia, I have heretofore given to my daughter Harriett, the negro girl named Sarah, and she therefore will receive nothing under my will.

Item 9th. I do hereby nominate and appoint My friend, LAURENCE C . STEPHENS , as Executor, of this my last will and testament, but the said Executor will have and shall have no duties to perform under this will, but to collect and pay debts due to and owing by me.

In testimony Whereof, I Jacob Eller have hereunto set my hand and affixed my seal this 15th day of July in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight hundred and forty seven. (1847).

    "JAMES McCARTHY , assisted In establishing American Independence, while acting In the capacity of Private. He lived in or near Charleston, S.C. at time of the Revolutionary War.

    “He Joined the Colonial Army under General (Nathaniel) Greene. Served as Private in Capt. Bailey's Co., 10th Regiment, North Carolina. Enlisted In R owan Co., 2 Mar 1782 for 12 months. (Ref: N.C. State Records, XVI-1121).

    "James McCarty was born in S.C. on the ___ day of __, 1750. Died In Boonville, (Cooper Co) Missouri on the afternoon of 20th day of May 1830.

    "Was discharged In Virginia, where he married ELIZABETH PRUETT In 1783, b. 1760, Va., and lived for some years, then moved to Buncombe Co., N.C., and then to Boonville, Mo., In 1817.

    "Eight children: JAMES, NICHOLAS, HENRY, b. 1805, N.C., and five daughters."

    ________ McCarty,m. Bayless Jones of Greene Co., Tenn. Remained Tenn. She deceased by 1850 census.
