C 1799/1800 - His daughter Elizabeth was born in Calne (1861 census transcription and ED's marriage certificate).

6 June 1841 - He was a sand carrier aged 40 (rounded) living in Wood St, Calne with Elizabeth, Eliza, Thomas, Robert, George and Mary (see 1841 census).
30 March 1851 - He was an unmarried fish dealer aged 52 living in Curzon St, Calne with Elizabeth Gee and his children Thomas, George and Mary A (see 1851 census).
25 December 1856 - He was a labourer at the time of the wedding of his son Thomas Gee (TG's marriage certificate).
6 April 1860 - He was a farm labourer aged 60 living in Curzon St, Calne, when he married Elizabeth Gee in Castle St Baptist Chapel, Calne. He made his mark in the register (marriage certificate).

30 May 1862 - He travelled to Swindon (see The Berkshire Chronicle dated 7 June 1862).
31 May 1862 - He returned from Swindon with his wife and one of his sons between 9 and 10 in the evening. They were all worse for liquor. His son returned to his own home after putting the horse and donkey into the stable. His wife went straight to bed leaving John in a chair downstairs. At 2 o'clock the next morning, his wife, not finding him in bed, got up and found him lying dead with the upper part of his body on the foot of the stairs. He had injuries to his head and face (see The Berkshire Chronicle dated 7 June 1862). A former labourer, he died, aged 66, in Calne (death certificate).
2 June 1862 - An inquest held in Chippenham, by Wm B Whitmarsh, the Coroner for Wiltshire, found that he had been accidentally killed by falling down stairs whilst in a state of intoxication. He had been found dead (death certificate).
3 June 1862 - Aged 66, he was buried in Calne (see parish register).
5 June 1862 - The registrar received notification of his death from the Coroner (death certificate).

29 December 1814 - He was living in Calne when he married Elizabeth Dix in St Mary's parish church, Calne. He made his mark in the register. John Savory was one of the witnesses (see parish register).
6 June 1841 - A Peter Gee aged 50 (rounded) was an agricultural labourer living in Studley, Wilts with Patience Wheeler aged 55 (rounded) and Thomas Gregory aged 11 (see 1841 census).
30 March 1851 - He was a married market gardener aged 60 living in Studley with Patience Wheeler, his housekeeper aged 70, and his grand daughter Maria Gregory aged 4 (see 1851 census).
5 October 1856 - He was a market gardener aged 65 when he died in Studley, Calne, of a disease of the liver (12 months) (death certificate).
13 October 1856 - Sarah Gregory, who had been present at his death, notified the registrar (death certificate).

7 April 1861 - Aged 61, she was living in Curzon St, Calne with her husband John (see 1861 census).

5 April 1891 - Aged 66, he was a widower living on his own means in Calne with his daughter Emily A aged 27 and lodgers William and Ernest Newth (?) (see 1891 census).
14 April 1902 - He was a canal bargeman aged 75 when he died of senile decay in Curzon St, Calne. Rachel E Silk, his daughter in law, also of Curzon St, who had been present at his death, advised the registrar (death certificate).
17 April 1902 - He was from Curzon St, Calne and aged 75 when his funeral service was held in Calne parish church (see parish register).

30 March 1851 - Aged 28, she was living in Lickhill Rd, Calne with her daughters Emma, aged 3, Elizabeth, aged 2 and Matilda, aged 2 months (see 1851 census).

15 October 1866 - He and Henry Edwards alias Angell were summoned by Mr Eatwell of Cherhill at the Calne Petty Sessions for having turned nine donkeys into a pasture field at Cherhill in the occupation of Mr Eatwell. George, being the proprietor of the donkeys, was ordered to pay £1 13/6d including costs or one month’s imprisonment and Edwards, 8/6d including costs or seven days imprisonment (see Devizes and Wiltshire Gazette dated 18 October 1866).
31 May 1867 - He was from Calne and the driver of five sand donkeys that were found to be straying on the road by Horton Bridge at 6 o'clock in the evening by a policeman stationed at Bishop's Cannings who found George asleep in the tap room of the Bridge public house. About 9 o'clock the same evening, the policeman went to the village of Bishop's Cannings and found the same donkeys strolling around outside the Crown public house. George, as before, was snugly ensconced in the tap room (see the Devizes and Wiltshire Gazette dated 20 June 1867).
17 June 1867 - He appeared at the Devizes District Petty Sessions charged with allowing his donkeys to stray about on 31 May. He stated that he had had too much to drink but would not let it happen again. The bench declined to trust him and fined him 10s including costs. Since he could only muster 8s he was allowed a week to pay the remainder (see the Devizes and Wiltshire Gazette dated 20 June 1867).
27 June 1868 - The Salisbury and Winchester Journal reported that he had been fined 7/6d plus costs in Bradford on Avon for having been found drunk and incapable on the Frome Rd (see the Salisabury and Winchester Journal dated 27 June 1868).
13 October 1870 - The Devizes and Wiltshire Gazette reported that he had been committed at Calne to Devizes prison for one month for allowing his donkeys to stray on the highway and another week for being drunk and riotous (see Devizes and Wiltshire Gazette dated 13 October 1870).
2 April 1871 - He was an unmarried dealer aged 34 lodging at the Sun Inn, Hungerford, Berkshire (see 1871 census).

8 March 1929 - She was living at 45 Curzon St, Calne, when she advised the registrar of the death of her father (TG's death certificate).
7 May 1929 - She was granted probate at Winchester of her father’s will as sole executrix. She inherited the whole of his estate (see will and probate).

24 December 1933 - She was aged 37, a spinster and a factory hand living at Curzon St, Calne when she married Reginald Russ in St Mary's Parish Church, Calne (marriage certificate).
6 July 1935 - She was living at 45 Curzon St, Calne, when she made her last will in which she left everything to Reginald Russ, her husband, who she also appointed as her sole executor (se will).
22 March 1936 - She died, aged 39, at 45 Curzon St, Calne, of pulmonary tuberculosis (death certificate).
25 March 1936 - She was the wife of a factory worker and had been living at 45 Curzon St, Calne, when she was buried, aged 39, in plot G36 of Curzon St cemetery (see burial register).
8 April 1936 - Her will was proved at Winchester. Her estate was valued at £277-14-0 (see probate).
