What's New?

We are trying to improve the site to make it easier to search and add photos... also add viewer comments such as below.  In addition, we would like to make a list of email addresses with city, state and relationship with the Goldston family.

Aug. 2, 2007:

I live in Brandon,FL.just outside of Tampa.  My great-grandfather was Thomas Eli Goldston and he was from the Kannapolis-Concord area of North Carolina.  I noticed on the Goldston website one of the desendants of the Goldstons from Goldston,N.C. had moved to that part of North Carolina.  There must be a relation of some type.  We have enjoyed the links you sent and thank you for taking the time to do that.  If you ever have the opportunity to visit the Tampa Bay area we would love to meet you.  I will be in the western North Carolina mountains in October and I am really looking forward to that trip.  God bless.

Q?  Who was Benjamin N. WatsonIn 1886 he was buried in Goldston Family Cemetery when Andrew Jackson Goldston was living there.  Benjamin was 63 years old.  His wife, Amanda Jane died 11/30/1887, age 66,  is buried here also.

A:  (From Janie Johnson) We have talked before and I wanted to get back in touch with you to share this information with you.

I am not sure you have found this already or not.  I know who Mary E. ? is who was married to William F. Johnson.  She was Mary E. Watson, daughter of Benjamin N. Watson and Amanda Jane ?, the two headstones you reflect for Benjamin Watson and B.N.W are more than likely for the same person which is Benjamin Watson.

On the 1850 Census it reflects Benjamin Watson was 27 years old so this would put his birth at 1822 and he died in 1886...so I think the small stone might be a foot stone or the stone was replaced with the larger one.  Reflected in the household is Mary E. who is 7 years old.

I am a descendant of Tarleton A. Johnson who married a Susan Ellis Andrews
and their son was William F. Johnson, who was married three times...his
second wife was Mary E. Watson..so far this is all I know but will continue
to look for additional information as Tarleton has been my brickwall since
1996.....

Janie Johnson

Who was Mary E., wife of W. F. Johnson? She was buried here in 1871, age 28.
