The first "Dalbec" that came from France to Quebec. He was born about 1641 in Tonnac, (Tonneins) Diocese of Rouargue, in the province of Guyenne, France. Bernard left France in 1664 as a soldier in the Company of Salieres, "Carignan Regiment". His company arrived in Montreal on August 19, 1665. Bernard married Marguerite Jourdain (who was a "Fille du Roi") on November 25, 1667 in Montreal. After leaving the regiment he became a farmer. He was one of the first land owners at Repentigny, Quebec. In the census of 1677 at Repentigny he had a farm that was 6 acres by 20 acres. The following is found in the 1681 census at Repentigny:
