This website
is dedicated to the descendants of John Ahern born in Mallow County Cork Ireland
in 1836. John sailed from the port of Queenstown on the 'Peru’ around September
1852, arriving at Port Phillip, Victoria Australia in December of that year.
What follows
is the combined efforts of a few family members who have made their records
available for publication.
Thanks go to Carol & Jeff, whose assistance has been immeasurable together with
Lily in NZ , Val in Mooroopna, Ray in Canberra, Sandra & another Val for their
books that have provided so much information.
Thanks must also go to the various historical societies &
family history groups that I have contacted in my search for answers, some have
produced results & some not, however my requests have always been handled with
enthusiasm.
