Funeral services were held Saturday, July 26, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Groves for Mrs. Alice Kavanaugh of Groves. The Rev. Keith Reese of St. Peter's Catholic Church officiated.
Mrs, Kavanaugh, aged 75, died Thursday morning, July 24, at 10:15 a.m. in St. Mary's Hospital.
Originally from Lafayette, La., she was a resident of Groves since 1928. She was a charter member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, charter member of Immaculate Conception Altar Society, and a member of NCCW.
Survivors include her husband J.F. Kavanaugh of Groves; two daughter, Mrs. F.H. (Betty) Seal of Groves, and Mrs. R.E. (Boots) LeBlanc of Port Arthur; one son, J.F. Kavanaugh of Nederland; two sisters, Mrs. A.W. Reese of Port Arthur and Mrs. G.E. Bader of Nederland; six grandchildren, Connie Seal Trahan of Groves, Susan Seal Lizak of Groves, Craig LeBlanc of Port Arthur, Kelly LeBlanc of Port Arthur, Mike Kavanaugh of Nederland, and Chris Kavanaugh of Nederland, and one great-grandchild, Chris Orena of Groves.
Pallbearers were Charles Hines, Warren LeMoine, Alvin Waldron, Donald Breaux, Glenn Bader, and Bill Reese.
