THOMAS BOON IMMIGRANT DIED 1723 ISLE OF WIGHT CO., VIRGINIA AND 1000 OF HIS DESCENDANTS, written by Rupert Farnham Thompson in 1981, has this Sion Boon confused with his Uncle Sion Boon. After thoroughly researching this family, being in contact with the descendants of this Sion and his Uncle Sion, I've now come to the conclusion that the Sion Boon who married 1) Chasey Council 2) Ann W. 'Nancy' Kemp and 3) Guizella Yancy 'Gilley' Crawford and went to Morgan Co., GA is the brother of William Boon of Franklin Co., NC and NOT the son. That Sion was already in GA in 1813 - while THIS SION is still in Franklin Co., NC in the early 1820's. I also believe THIS Sion was much younger than is listed in Rupert's book.
- Since Willis is executor of father's will and we know Sion was in the area, I have to assume that Willis is the OLDEST
- That makes this Sion born between 1784-1789 the s/o William and Rebecca English who William had married about 1775-1778. It also puts him born between Benjamin and my Kinchin Boon, and as named in William's will.
- This Sion appears on 1809 Tax list so had to be born by 1788 (to be 21 at this time)
- This Sion Boon went to TN about 1825, along with his brohter, Benjamin, and settled very near him. You will also see from the records below, that the Hammonds family, who married the d/o Willis Boon, half-brother of this Sion, is also in this area. Also many of the Denby-Eley-Lankford families from Franklin Co., NC and intertwinted by marriages, and mentioned several times with Sion in NC are also in this area of TN.
We actually know very little about Patience and her maiden name at this time is unknown. We know that she married Sion about 1809 probably the Franklin Co., NC area. She shows up on the 1840 Gibson Co., TN census, just after Sion had died in 1838. She is with her children on the 1850 and 1860 Gibson Co. TN Census. We know from guardianship records that the children she is listed with are indeed Sion's children. If you have any records or believe you have 'an idea' on the maiden name of Patience, please write me Ann (Jobe) Brown. I have a very good knowledge of the early families of the Franklin Co., NC area and are related to many of them through my Boon, Denby, and Jones intermarriages.
