The OLLIFFE family can be traced back to the mid 1500s living initially in Bierton before taking up residence in Aylesbury itself. It appears that there must have been a change in economic circumstances in Bierton, as by the time the last of the OLLIFFEs appear there, they are almost all noted as paupers. It seems likely that all the OLLIFFE families in the vale of Aylesbury are all descended from the same original family, though this is hard to establish due to the constant repetition of first names!
I
would particularly like to thank Colin OLLIFFE without whose fabulous website
(now no longer active) and help, it would have taken me much longer to find the
correct line of descent.
I have also received help along the way from too many other OLLIFFE researchers
to list here individually, but thank you all for your contributions!
