History of Posey Township
Posey Township, Fayette County, was called into existence
by the Commissioners, February 10, 1823.  It is bounded
on the north by Henry and Wayne Counties, east by
Wayne County, south by Harrison and Fariview Townships,
and west by Rush County.  It is six miles from east to west,
and five miles from north to south.

The western part of the township settled very rapidly after 1820
