H arvey Orris Parchmont, son of James and Beatrix Parchmont, was born on June 1, 1908 in Bonacco, Honduras. When he was 20 years old, he married Daisy Elizabeth Marshall on March 23, 1929. Not long after their marriage, Daisy and Harvey moved to Honduras and settled in the village of La Ceiba.

They moved to the town of Bonacco, Harvey's home town, where in April of 1934 their first son, Harvey Orris Parchmont, Jr was born. They stayed in Honduras until October, 1939. They sailed back to Houston on the TSS Ulua and celebrated Halloween aboard ship with a dinner. The ship arrived November 2, 1939.

Daisey and Harvey had the rest of their children in Houston. Sometime between 1950 and 1960 Daisy and Harvey were divorced. All of the children helped support the family and subsequently took care of their mother. Harvey died in Houston, Texas on April 1, 1968 at the age of 60.

Daisey loved flowers. She was fond of daylillies, some of which she planted at most every place they lived. After I saw her collection, I started collecting various varities of daylillies as soon as there was a place to plant them.
She also made clothes for her children. Since she did not drive, one of the children would drive her to the colthworld store where she shopped. Daisey could spot the bargains on cloth and notions.

And could she cook! After a suscessful fishing trip, (or a trip to the fish market) she would fry up oysters and speckled trout and french fried potatoes. When one of us would go into the kitchen to get a taste, she would jab at our hands with her cooking fork. She always managed to miss our hands; sometimes we were sucessful in winning a morsel, and sometimes not.

After a long life, Daisy met the 21st century and died in January 2000 at the age of 88. She is buried in Fairchild, Texas near Rosenberg. She left a large family of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
