Mr. James Atkinson died at the home of his son-in-law, John H. Hallford, in this city. Monday night, aged 89 years. Mr. Atkinson had made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Hallford for several years — had been delicate and confined to his room for some time past, quietly passing away Monday night. He was an old settler of Missouri — his father living here, coming from either Virginia or Kentucky. He was a zealous member of the Baptist church. Mrs. Hallford is probably the only living child. Dr. Atkinson who died in Clarksburg a few years ago was his son. Mr. Atkinson lived in Cooper county many years before coming to Moniteau.
