Aunt Emma and Carroll

Aunt Emma Stoerker lived in St. Charles with her only child and son, Carroll. Her husband Gottleib had left her some years before, one step ahead of the police. If Emma knew where he was, she wasn't telling. Certainly no one else in the family knew where he was. Emma seemed unembittered by it all so far as I could tell. She was always pleasant, and there was a mutual acceptance of her as part of the Stoerker family. She was still legally married to Gottlieb in those years, but later on she divorced him. Mom told me she was afraid that Gottlieb had remarried on the assumption Emma had divorced him, and she didn't want to get him into possible bigamy problems.
Carroll was considerably older than I. We would visit Aunt Emma and Carroll when we were in St. Charles, and Carroll would try to play with me. What I remember most about him was that he had a lead-melting set. The melted lead could be poured into moulds which he had to make things. There were animals, but primarily he had a virtual army of lead soldiers and equipment such as cannons. I enjoyed watching him make them.
In later years Carroll reunited with his father. Gottlieb, who had no middle name as was the Stoerker custom, then went by the name G. Carroll Stoerker, a very rare instance of a father naming himself after his son instead of the other way around.

( St Charles, Missouri, USA.)7
They resided at 408 South 2D, St Charles, Missouri, USA, in 1939. This indicates Emma was a widow, but Gottlob didn't die until 1976. He had left her, but was not deceased.8
Carroll completed 4 years of high school.2

Carroll Robert's race was negro. This appears to be a mistake.2

Carroll Robert Stoerker served in the Army in World War II. His serial number was 37615660. He enlisted at Jefferson Barracks, St Louis County, Missouri, USA, on 4 June 1943 as an enlisted man. He served as a Private, Grade 8. At the time of enlistment, Carroll had been living in St Charles County, Missouri. He was listed as a Negro, but this appears to be a mistake as all the other information on the enlistment record points to the correct person.2

When he enlisted in WWII he was listed as single without dependents on 4 June 1943.2

Carroll Robert Stoerker married Maxine Unknown. Carroll Robert Stoerker was also known as Carroll R on the Social Security Death Index.4
Carroll Robert Stoerker and Maxine Unknown were divorced.9
According to Marion Stoerker, Carroll once owned a small candle factory. As of January 1994, Carroll's last known address to Marion was in San Rafael, California. Marion also recall's hearing that Carroll had died.

Carroll Robert Stoerker lived in San Rafael, Marin County, California, USA, in June 2001.4
