'Aged Resident of County dies'
Mrs. K. Motschenbacher to be buried here Friday
Mrs. K. Motschenbacher, mother of George Motschenbacher and Mrs. T. F.Collins of this city passed away Monday afternoon at 5 o'clock at thehome of her daughter Mrs. Anna Miller of Moorhead. The
remains will bebrought here Friday morning and services will be held at the AssumptionChurch at 9:30 o'clock. Rev. Father Adolph will officiate, assisted byFather Edmund Basel of Moorhead. The pall
bearers will be sixgrandchildren, Edward Glenen, Luke Gorman, Alvin, Leo, Will and GeorgeMotschenbacher.
Kunuegundis Raphahn was born April 18 1836, at Bamberg, Bavaria. She cameto this country in May, 1855 and on Oct 16th of the same year was unitedin marriage to George Motschenbacher at Milwaukee.
The family moved from Milwaukee to Addison, Washington county, Wisconsin,then to Arcadia, Tempeleau county in 1870. In 1880, they settled on ahomestead in Alliance township, near Sabin where their
son John nowresides.
Mr. Motschenbacher died 26 years ago.
About twenty years ago, Mrs. Motschenbacher went to Newburg, Ore., whereshe made her home until her return here about three years ago. Since thenshe has divided her time between her daughters Mrs. W.
C. Peterson ofWolverton, Mrs. T. F. Collins of this city and Mrs. Miller of Moorhead.
Although 87 years of age she enjoyed exceptionally food health andretained a very fine, clear memory. She was very fond of piercing silkand worsted quilts, one of her silk quilts winning first prize
at theClay county fair a year ago.
Sunday afternoon she suffered a paralytic stroke, followed by another onMonday, and she passed away without regaining consciousness.
Mrs. Motschenbacher was the mother of fourteen children, ten of whom arenow living; Michael of Klamath Falls, Ore., Mrs. F. L. Slater, OstranderWash; Mrs. W. C. Peterson, Wolverton; John, Sabin;
Mrs. T. F. Collinsand George of this city; Valentine, Thunderhawk, N. Dak; Edward,Maddock, N. Dak; and Mrs. Anna Miller of Moorhead.1
     Kunegundis Rebhahn was born on 18 April 1836 in Bamberg, Oberfranken, Bavaria, GermanyG.1 She was the daughter of Luke Rebhahn and Mary Anna Zwoster.1
     George Motschenbacher married Kunegundis Rebhahn, daughter of Luke Rebhahn and Mary Anna Zwoster, at Mission of St Mary, Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, USA, on 16 October 1855.1
     Kunegundis died on 7 May 1923 in Moorhead, Clay County, Minnesota, USA, at age 87.1 She was buried on 9 May 1923 in the Catholic Cemetery located in Barnesville, Clay County, Minnesota, USA.1
