About November of 1857, Christian Friedrich Stoerker and his wife, Clara Marie (nee Poesser) moved to a farm near Cappeln Church in western St. Charles County, Missouri. They had a six-year-old son, Conrad Friedrich Stoerker, and some daughters. They had come from Buer, near Melle, Province Hannover, in Germany. (The 1900 Illinois Census for Washington County lists the year of immigration as 1859).2,3
Karoline Clara Stoerker was listed as an unknown person 's servant on the 1880 US Federal Census in St Louis, Independent City, Missouri, USA, enumerated 3 June 1880.4 Her age was listed as 24. She was shown as born in Hannover. She was single. Her occupation was domestic servant.4

As of June 1927, Karoline and her family were living in Wright City, Missouri. They were still there in the early 1930's.
