     As of 1991, Joyce is retired and caring for her husband Ted who is suffering from Parkinson's disease. Joyce visits Ted in the Lyngblomsten Care Home nearly every day, but has managed several one or two day trips for herself. Among other things, she took a hot air balloon ride in Galena, Illinois in September.
