     Harriett was born in Virginia, USA, on 3 September 1841.3,4,5 She was the daughter of Male Kennedy and Female Unknown. Other sources show Harriett Kennedy was born in 1844 in Ohio, USA.6,7,2
     On May 18, 1865 William Herrell and Harriet Kennedy were married in Lawrence County, Ohio. The marriage was performed by Rev. N.L. Whitehead.

There may have been another infant besides Jenny Herrell that died at a young age. She appears in the 1870 Tennessee census data, but the name is unreadable.

Wofford and Louise Akers have the following documents:

A document stating that William Herrell and Harriet Kennedy were married by a minister H.L.W. Whitehead May 18,1865 in Green Township, Scioto County, Ohio and in 1867 went from Lawrence County, Ohio to Decatur County, Tennessee, where they lived for about 15 years.

A letter to Harriet Herrell, Game, Missouri c/o John Queen from a Mrs A. Herrell, St. Genevieve, Missouri dated July 19, 1899. She was asking Mrs. H. Herrell to get Charlie to sign a contract paying her some money in return for her signing divorce papers for him.

I have a copy of an affidavit that states the following:

Either Harriet or William had a brother named Charles.

According to the 1870 Tennessee census data, the family name was spelled Herold. At that time, Whig and Harriet were married with one daughter. Whig worked as an adjust manager. Whig was 27 and Harriet was 26. Their daughter was 1. Also, living with them was a 32 year old white male boarder named Gaylord B. Norton who worked as a book keeper. The Herrell's had personal property worth $1000. Whig and Harriet were both able to read and write. Whig was born in Virginia and Harriett was born in Ohio.

According to the 1880 Tennessee census data, the family name was spelled Herrold. At that time, Whig and Harriet were married with five children. Whig worked as a farmer and a miller. Whig was 40 and Harriett was 38. The children were 10, 7, 6, 5, and 2 months. Also, living with them was a 22 year old white male named John Ray and a 19 year old black male named John Fleming. Whig and Harriett were both able to read and write and were both born in Virginia.

     William Richmond Herrell married Harriett Kennedy, daughter of Male Kennedy and Female Unknown, in Ironton, Lawrence County, Ohio, USA, on 18 May 1865.8,9,10
     Her common name was Hat Herrell.4

     Harriett Herrell was listed on the 1870 US Federal Census at 4th District, Wayne County, Tennessee, USA, enumerated 18 July 1870 living with William Richmond Herrell.12 Her age was listed as 26. She was shown as born in Ohio. Her profession was keeping house.12
     Harriett Kennedy was listed as William Richmond Herrell's wife on the 1880 US Federal Census in District 3, Wayne County, Tennessee, USA, enumerated 17 June 1880.13 Her age was listed as 38. She was shown as born in Virginia. Her father was born in Pennsylvania. Her mother was born in Virginia. She was married. Her occupation was keeping house.13

     Harriett Kennedy lived in Caruthersville, Pemiscot County, Missouri, USA, in December 1897.14

     Harriett Kennedy was listed as the head of household on the 1900 US Federal Census in Little Prairie Township, Pemiscot County, Missouri, USA, enumerated 27 June 1900. Also living in the house were, her sons, Harry Armstrong and Charles William, her daughter, Anna Lorene, her granddaughter, Grace Queen, her grandson, John William Queen. Her birth date was listed as Sept 1843, age 56. She was born in Virginia. She was widowed She is the mother of 9 children. 6 children are still living. Her father was born in Pennsylvania. Her mother was born in Virginia.15
She was able to read, able to write, and able to speak English.15 She rented the property, it was a house.15 Harriett Kennedy recieved letter received from G. W. Anderson, 1305 Union Street, Portsmouth, Ohio. on 23 January 1905.

She was ill with Harriet was sick only 5 days before she died. between 18 May 1905 and 25 May 1905.4

     Harriett died on 23 May 1905 at age 63.4 She was buried after 23 May 1905 in the Old Cemetery located in Braggadocio, Pemiscot County, Missouri, USA.4 She recieved Letter from G. W. Anderson.

     Harry and Annie's Akers three deceased children are buried at the foot of William R and Harriet's graves in Old Cemetery in Braggadocio, Missouri. It's uncertain which three children this is in reference too.4
