     Gustave and his brother Alfred were co-founders of the Reid Trucking Company. Gustave is buried in the family plot in Section D of Valhalla cemetery near the road.

     Gustave was born in Crystal Springs, Copiah County, Mississippi, USA, on 21 February 1886.1,2,3 He was the son of Male Reid and Female Unknown.
     Gustave Putnam Reid Sr. married Emilie H. Unknown.3
     The start of World War I caused the United States to institute a draft registration. As the war continued to drag on, they instituted their third and final draft registration. This added men who were between the ages of 18 and 21, and 31 to 45 years of age. It included younger men than the previous registrations, those who were born between September 12, 1897 and September 12, 1900; and added an older group of men, born between September 12, 1873 and September 12, 1888. Gustave Putnam Reid Sr. filled out a draft card on 12 September 1918 at 5943 Minerva Avenue, St Louis, Independent City, Missouri, USA. He was employed as a manager of an express company at Gustave Reid. He was described as medium height and stout build, with brown eyes and brown hair. Emilie H. Reid was listed as his nearest relative.2

     Alfred and Gustave and Alfred Douglas Reid owned and co-founded the Reid Trucking Company.
     Gustave Putnam Reid Sr. was employed as Express & Trucking, Prop.3
     Gustave Putnam Reid Sr. and Emilie H. Reid lived at 7550 Cornell Avenue, University City, St Louis County, Missouri, USA, on 20 February 1938.3
     Gustave died on 20 February 1938 at Jewish Hospital, St Louis, Independent City, Missouri, USA, at age 51. The cause of death was coreinoma of lungs and metastasis to mediateriam brain. Emilie H. Unknown provided the information on the death certificate.1,3 Gustave Putnam Reid Sr. was buried on 23 February 1938 in the Valhalla Cemetery located in St Louis, Independent City, Missouri, USA.
