     Alfred was born on 23 June 1883.1,2 He was the son of Male Reid and Female Unknown.
     His common name was Doug.3
     Doug worked Mall's grocery store.3
     Doug Reid and Grace Reid lived at 5966a Plymouth, St Louis, Independent City, Missouri, USA, on 12 September 1918.2
     The start of World War I caused the United States to institute a draft registration. As the war continued to drag on, they instituted their third and final draft registration. This added men who were between the ages of 18 and 21, and 31 to 45 years of age. It included younger men than the previous registrations, those who were born between September 12, 1897 and September 12, 1900; and added an older group of men, born between September 12, 1873 and September 12, 1888. Doug Reid filled out a draft card on 12 September 1918 at 5966a Plymouth, St Louis, Independent City, Missouri, USA. He was employed as a traffic manager at J.D. Merrill Drug Company. He was described as tall height and medium build, with blue eyes and light brown hair. Grace Reid was listed as his nearest relative.2

     Alfred and Gustave and Gustave Putnam Reid Sr. owned and co-founded the Reid Trucking Company.
     Alfred Douglas Reid married Mildred Unknown, daughter of Male Unknown.3
     Doug was a larger man than his brother Gus Sr.3
     Doug died in 1931. He left his wife with $6500 and a mortgage. Somewhere along the line, Doug purchased an interest in a marble mine. This venture proved to be unsuccessful..4,3 He was buried in 1931 in the Valhalla Cemetery located in St Louis, Independent City, Missouri, USA. He is buried in Section D near the road.1
