Friedrich Geo Torneden was born on 9 May 1854.1 He was the son of Johan Bernhard Karl Torneden and Carolina Friederika Emilie Altenbernd.
Friedrich Geo Torneden immigrated on 26 May 1869 to in Lexington, Johnson County, Kansas, USA, with his parents Johan Bernhard Karl Torneden and Carolina Friederika Emilie Torneden On May 26, 1869, Johan and his family left Germany. They arrived in Baltimore on June 14, 1869 on the ship "Baltimore". They settled in Lexington, Johnson County, Kansas. Lexington is east of Eudora.
They left Germany to keep their two older sons, August and Simon (“Sam”), out of the German army. Caroline’s brother, Conrad Altenbernd Sr., arranged for the trip to Eudora from Lippe Detmold, Germany, in 1869. It took two wagon trips from Kansas City to bring all their belongings.2
Friedrich Geo Torneden married Caroline Kampschroder.3 Friedrich Geo Torneden filed a declaration of intent on 22 November 1876 at District Court, Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, USA. He denounced his allegiance to Imperial Germany.4
Friedrich died on 11 December 1929 at age 75.1 He was buried in December 1929 in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Oak Hill Avenue, located in Lawrence, Douglas County, Kansas, USA.1
