William TAYLOR was born in 1808 in possibly Bristol, Gloucestershire, England. I was advised that he supposedly died in 1847 in England. He married Ruth BRUTON. [Father - William TAYLOR]
William was a Pianoforte & Organ Builder in Bristol, Gloucestershire, England and he married Ruth BRUTON. They had a family of five children, William Frederick (1831) my direct ancestor who married Sarah Ann PORTCH, another son (ca.1832), whose name is unknown and who immigrated to the United States of America, Frank (1838), Emily (1838) and Charles (1842) who was an Architect and resided in Cardiff in Wales. At the time of his son William Frederick's second marriage in 1871 his occupation is given as 'Mariner', as is his father's. However, as William Senior had supposedly passed away, many years earlier in 1847, this occupation could be incorrect.
Interestingly in the 1871 Census there is a William TAYLOR, a Land Agent and Auctioneer, aged 54 years (born ca 1817) married to Ruth residing with the family of Ann BRUTON unmarried aged 70 years with income from Houses and Land in High Street, Chipping Sodbury for William Taylor Age in 1871: 54; Estimated birth year: 1817; Relation: Head

Refer to Pages 114 to 127 of 'Along the Windsor Richmond Road' Book 1 for further detailed comments regarding the date of birth of 29th October, 1795, inscribed on his tombstone. Which can be read online at Taylor & Ashdown Family Genealogy - John EZZEY (1795c - 1869) where in addition on Page 127 it states : If the date of birth inscribed on his tombstone [in St. Peter's Churchyard at Richmond (Row 2, Grave 41/42 Section A)] is correct [the date of birth, 29 October 1795], then he had not had his 73rd birthday, so he was not even in his 74th year. 5829/1869 EZZY JOHN WILLIAM DIED RICHMOND RICHMOND
John was the son of a convict (William) and his free-wife Jane. He became a District Constable appointed from the Windsor Branch to the District of North Richmond NSW on 2 Aug 1828 and remained in this position until about Dec 1830 when he resigned. He rejoined the force a few months later as Assistant District Constable at North Richmond and completed his term of three years in August 1831. He later farmed at Richmond Hill [Grose Vale] .
In the early years John grew mainly wheat. In the 1828 Census John owned 70 acres of land and in 1830 he purchased his father-in-law's grant at Richmond Hill, or Kurrajong, in the part of the area now called Bowen Mount. The couple and their young family had moved to the 180 acres by mid 1830 and it was here they built their home called "Bonnie Doon" on what is today the area of 'Cabbage Tree Road'. When John and his family first settled at "Bonnie Doon" they were terrorised on one occasion by the bushranger George Armstrong in company with his friends. John received a grant of forty acres at Kurrajong in June 1831, adjoining the 180 acres he had already acquired by private purchase, and over the next few years, gradually purchased adjoining properties until 'Bonnie Doon' totalled 480 acres. He was no longer farming and was grazing stock and had acquired a property of forty acres in 1839, which he named 'Clifton Grove'. The present day farm on this lot still goes by this name. In 1842 he leased acreage at a place called 'Darky', at the foot of the Bulga, jointly with his son-in-law Richard Skuthorp Jnr. The journalist Samuel Boughton wrote 'Foley speaks of in his 'Reminiscences of Australia' they had eleven children and 99 grand-children.'
Later he farmed with his brother Charles EZZY and he was among the first
settlers to lease land at St. George (now part of Queensland). They were one
of the first to take up a station on the Namoi River, which was at the time
considered the North East end of Australia and his sons settled on the
Balonne, long before Queensland became separated from N.S.W. The issuing of
leases in the Balonne River District was under the jurisdiction of the Moree
Land Office and the Gwydir District Run Book for 1848-1855 shows Charles EZZY
'Keeret' (St.George) 32,000 acres and John EZZY 'Guy Guy', the same
acreage.

point on the latter stream, thence on the north by a line running west 5
miles, thence on the west by a line running south 5 miles, thence on the south
by a line running east five miles and striking the point on the Balonne River
first mentioned.

the south by the northern boundary of the run called 'Guy Guy', thence on the
east by the Balonne River to Mr.Ezzeys' hut called Quebit, thence on the north
by a line running west 5 miles, thence on the west by a line running south 5
miles to the southern boundary.
John's line was the only one to adopt the spelling of EZZEY. On 28 Sep 1831 the Colonial Secretary wrote to the Windsor Court House requesting it to ascertain and report whether the Surname of this Applicant is spelt EZZY or EZZEY. The report was returned to Sydney several days later and endorsed 'The proper mode of spelling this name is EZZEY.'
From 1856-1868 John was a member of the Committee of Trustees for the
Hawkesbury Benevolent Society and Hospital, which operated from Macquarie
Street Windsor. In 1864 the Bank of New South Wales opened a branch office in
the township of Richmond and the first account was opened in the name of John
EZZEY. In the latter years of his life John acquired quite a few properties in
the township of Richmond, some he disposed of, whilst others were bequeathed
to his children in his Will. John Ezzey out lived his wife by just over two
years and passed away on 29th May 1869. Two days later The Sydney Morning
Herald carried the following notice :
'Ezzey - on the 29th inst., at his
residence Fuschia Cottage, Richmond. Mr. John Ezzey, an old and respected
Colonist, aged 74 years, leaving a large family and circle of friends to mourn
their loss'. Inscribed on his tombstone in St. Peter's Churchyard at Richmond
(Row 2, Grave 41/42 Section A) is the date of birth, 29 October 1795 (If
correct this would make him 72 years old).

Rebecca, the only daughter of her parents was literate. She married John EZZEY at St. Matthew's Church of England, Windsor NSW on 24 Mar 1817 and the couple's first home was on the Windsor Richmond Road, on John's share of his father's original grant. In their later years John and Rebecca retired to a home in the township of Richmond called 'Fuschia Cottage' in Francis Street and Rebecca was the first to pass away on 5th April 1867. The Sydney Morning Herald carried the following notice
'Ezzy Rebecca, at her residence Francis Street, Richmond, Rebecca, wife of Mr. John Ezzey, aged 69 years, leaving a husband, 11 children, 62 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren to deplore their loss'.When Rebecca died, John laid her to rest in a fine new vault in St. Peter's Churchyard (Row 2, Grave 41/42 Section A). When John himself passed away, the family buried him with his wife in the same vault.

Edmund and Elizabeth lived at Littleworth Place, Chinnor, England (see non Parochial registers on fiche) prior to their immigration to Australia. He arrived in Sydney as an 'Assisted Immigrant' on the ship 'United Kingdom' together with his brother John and their families. They disembarked on 7 May 1844 when they were released into the employ of William Cox Jnr. of "Hobartville", Richmond. Both brothers remained at "Hobartville" for at least five years, possibly longer. The family later lived at Agnes Banks. In his later years Edmund was a Currier in Richmond.
According to his 1899 Death Certificate, Edmund was 89 years of age when he died of "Senile Decay" - Duration : 2 months.
The Informant on his Death Certificate was : Caleb EZZEY, Grandson, Grose Vale, NSW.

'Henry - Deceased' was listed but crossed out.Edmund was living with his daughter Mary Ann EZZEY, my direct ancestor at Grose Vale at the time of his death. He was buried in the Presbyterian Burial Ground at East Richmond, but has no headstone. The Presbyterian Burial Ground is located on the extreme edge of the township, overlooking the flood-plain and in 2003 was surrounded by cow paddocks.

Christening of Frank ASHERSamuel's parents were William and Elizabeth ASHER. Samuel was a Lacemaker in Nottingham until arrested at 19 years of age on 17 Mar 1837 and transported for 14 years at Nottingham Quarter Sessions. He was tried and charged with four other men and found guilty of stealing a coat valued at 2 shillings, a pair of gloves, a gimblet and a ball of twine from the Fishpond Gardens of Nottingham Castle which was known for the beauty of it's flowers and the excellence of the vegetables. On a second indictment they were also found guilty of stealing a coat, a pair of gloves, a pair of shoes and a cap from a private garden. Evidence was provided by the Innkeeper of the 'Sign of the Huntsman', a Nightwatchman and owners of the stolen property. Although character references were accepted by the court, the Jury was advised that each defendant had a record of previous convictions. Samuel departed from Sheerness, at the mouth of the Thames River on 16th July 1837 on the ship 'James Pattison'. He arrived in Sydney on 25th October 1837. Trial Place was Surrey.
He was Granted a 'Ticket Of Leave' in 1844 and married Ann Bowden, then living at Dora Creek in NSW, on 6th February 1845 at Cooranbong, with the Governor's consent, since Samuel was still a convict at that time, and signed with his 'x' mark. He received a Conditional Pardon on 1 Nov 1848, as a result of his good conduct. However, he had not collected this Pardon nearly two years later when a notice appeared in The Sydney Morning Herald on 22 Jun 1850 advising of same.
Samuel was 5ft 3/4 inches tall, with a dark, ruddy and freckled complexion. His hair was dark brown and he had brown eyes.
During their ten year marriage, Ann and Samuel had six children. The first two being born at Newport (Dora Creek) and the remaining four were born when the family lived in Perkins Street, Newcastle (nearly opposite The Victoria Theatre),

vi Catherine ASHER, b. 27 Mar 1855 in Perkins Street, Newcastle, NSW. She married Robert A CROPLEY.Samuel died tragically in 1855 when he fell from his dray and dislocated his spine whilst taking a dray of goods to the racecourse. He lived for 12 hours though paralysed.

NEWCASTLE
One of those melancholy events which throw a gloom over an otherwise joyous occassion occured during the first day of our races, and has resulted in the death of an estimable man, who leaves behind him a large family to deplore his loss. An inquest was held on the body on Thursday, the 26th instant, before the Coroner, J.E. Stacey, Esq. It appears from the evidence that Mr. Samuel Asher, the deceased, had taken his dray with goods of some kind to the course, and when returning home in the evening with some of his neighbours in the cart, and just as they had arrived at where the Macquarie Road abuts upon the railway, he fell from the front of his dray backwards, dislocating the spine. He survived the injuries upwards of twelve hours, though completely paralysed, and expired about one o'clock on Thursday. Verdict accidental death. The deceased man was a man who in his capacity as a carter was universally esteemed for his sober habits and quied demeanour.

Newcastle Mercury Newspaper 1 Aug 1855.Samuel was most likely buried at the Cemetery of Christ Church Cathederal, where burials were carried out from 1802 to 1881, as Sandgate was not established until this time. Unfortunately these graves were desecrated and the headstones removed.
Ann BOWDEN was born on 5 Apr 1826 in Benenden, Kent, England. She was christened 1 on 28 May 1826 in Benenden, Kent, England. She died 2 on 25 Aug 1914 in Moap Street Waratah NSW. The cause of her death was Senile Decay. She was buried 3 on 26 Aug 1914 in Congregational Cemetery Sandgate, Newcastle NSW. Ann emigrated on 24 Jun 1838 from Gravesend in Kent (near London). Ann BOWDEN lost her mother when she was 12 years of age, as her mother died upon the family's arrival in Sydney in 1838.
Her older sister Rebecca, married Thomas ADAM two years later at St Andrews Presbyterian Church, Sydney on 28 Aug 1840, so it is most likely that Ann at 14 years of age continued to raise her younger four siblings, which included a three year old infant as well as preparing meals for the older family members in Sydney and later at their farm at Dora Creek.Ann, aged 22 years married Samuel ASHER with the consent of the Governor of NSW on 6 Feb 1845. Their first child George Leyon ASHER's christening is registered two months later on 24 Apr 1845.
Tradegy would again strike Ann when her husband Samuel died tragically on 27 Jul 1855 when he fell from his dray and dislocated his spine, whilst taking a dray of goods to the racecourse. He lived for 12 hours though paralysed. This left Ann with six young children to raise. Catherine the youngest, having being born only four months earlier. Three years later she married her second husband Edward PERRY on 30 Mar 1858 and had a a further five children :
Thomas (1859), Edward Bowden PERRY (1860) married Annie JOLLY, Harriet E PERRY (1862) married John C JORDAN, Caroline M PERRY (1864) married William FARLEY, Reuben G PERRY (1866) married Annie GILLESPIE.On 28 July 1877 Ann was a witness at the birth of her grandson Samuel Webster Asher. Tradegy again would arise when on 23 Jun 1884, at the age of 58 years, Ann became a Widow once more when her second husband Edward PERRY committed suicide by cutting his throat.
Ann is buried as Ann PERRY in the Congregational Section of Sandgate Cemetery NSW. Her death is registered as : No.12450 Registered in Waratah NSW.

They emigrated to Australia shortly after marrying and settled subsequently in Newcastle. James was brought out to Australia under contract with the Australian Agricultural Company arriving on the ship 'Aden' on 8th October 1842. James was the last of his family to be contracted by the company. Also brought out by The A.A. Company and arriving aboard the ship 'Richard Webb' on 24 September 1840, amongst the first Scottish miners brought out, was James' elder brother John. Also aboard was John LINDSAY who married James and John's sister Agnes. James' mother (Helen) and sisters came out with Helen's second husband Robert WILLIAMSON and their children. Robert was also under contract with the company and arrived aboard the ship 'Hero of Malown' on 21 November 1841. Other family members who came out with the A.A. Company were James LINDSAY (brother to Helen), Enoch DAVIES and Thomas TUDOR (both married half-sisters to James).
Accordingly to Death Certificate, James was born in Angusshire, Scotland. His wife Ann was the Informant and she stated he was 21 years of age when they married in Glasgow, Scotland.

Martha's parents were John and Sarah HEWITT. She was 27 years of age when she married James CLEWITT in Lincoln, England.
Martha and James had four children. Their first child, a daughter, Sarah Elizabeth CLEWITT was born in London in 1852 and obviously named after Martha's mother. Looking through the GRO indexes there is the birth of their daughter Sarah E Clewett which was registered in the December Quarter of 1852 in Hampstead, which is in London. (Reference District: Hampstead. Volume number: 1a. Page number: 443) so it would appear that James and Martha moved to Hampstead early in their married life.
A further three children were born to James and Martha, all sons. James, Joseph (1857) and Robert James (1860). The youngest two sons, both being born in St. Leonards, Sydney NSW Australia.

Henry was the son of a convict. His parents were George SMITH (a convict) and Elizabeth ROBINSON. Elizabeth herself was the daughter of two convict parents.
There were seven children of the marriage between Henry Alexander SMITH and Sarah MURRAY which was witnessed by Robert HENDERSON and Maria SMITH (Henry's sister). Their children being George Robert (1844), Henry (1845), Robert Thomas (1847) married Harriett SARJEANT, Maria Elizabeth (1850), Sarah Rebecca (1852) married Isaac JACKSON, Eliza Madeline (1855) married Charles Henry ALLMEY, and Emma (1858) my director ancestor.

It is known that Henry and Sarah lived in Sussex and Erskine Streets, Sydney, as this is where six of their seven children were born, between 1844 and 1855. He was a Shoemaker by trade, however, in later life he worked as a Night Watchman, at the Australian Steamship Navigation Company in Sussex Street, Sydney.Henry SMITH died on 12 February 1874, at his home in Adolphus Street Balmain, having suffered from cancer of the tongue for 5 months. He was buried at the Balmain Cemetery, in Norton Street. Witnesses at his death were Edwin McKEWN and Thomas DWIGHT. The following are transcripts taken from the Sydney Morning Herald, Saturday, 14 February 1874:
Death - On the 12th instant at his residence, Adolphus Street, Balmain, of cancer of the tongue, Henry Alexander SMITH, for 20 years an employee in the ASN Co's service, aged 55 years.
Funeral - The friends of the late Henry Alexander SMITH are invited to attend his funeral, to move from his late residence, Adolphus Street, Balmain, this Saturday at 3 o'clock, for the Balmain Cemetery. Thomas Undertaker York St.In the years to follow, Balmain Cemetery fell into a state of dis-repair, and was completely bulldozed in 1941 to make way for Pioneer Park. Of the 1000's of graves, only a handful of headstones were saved or their inscriptions recorded. Unfortunately, Henry's was not one of them.

If the Census was taken in Oct 1828 (?) the exact age for Sarah born Mar 1822 would be 6yrs 7mth.
Sarah was the daughter of Robert and Rebecca MURRAY (nee WATSON). Her mother Rebecca was the daughter of Robert WATSON who Came free as Quartermaster of the "Sirius" and arrived with the First Fleet on 26 January 1788.
She would not have known her grandfather as he died before she was born.She is known to have had one sibling, a step-brother Robert MURRAY (christened Robert GOUGH in 1808). Sarah's father died six weeks before she was born and her mother died when she was four years of age, leaving her an orphan.
In the 1828 Census, Sarah aged seven years is lodging at the residence of Robert and Catherine HENDERSON of Brisbane Waters. In 1843 Robert HENDERSON is a witness at her marriage to Henry Alexander SMITH. Robert Henderson, Sarah's adoptive father, had a hotel at the intersection of Sussex and Erskine Streets, and this is no doubt where Sarah stayed. This is also on the same corner as where her husband Henry Smith had his shop. There now stands a new complex where the hotel once stood, and where Henry had his premises there are old original buildings dated late 1800s, but these are still too early to be the original premises of Henry's shop. Robert HENDERSON was also a Boat Builder of Brisbane Water and his first boat was named 'Sarah'. The Henderson's were childless until the early 1830s. In a Murder Transcription in which Robert Henderson was a witness it stated that he often sailed from Brisbane Water to his hotel, 'The Dove' in Sussex Street.
Amongst other interests, Robert HENDERSON had a ship building enterprise in Brisbane Water. The first boat built by him in 1830 was called, 'Sarah', obviously after his only (adopted) child, Sarah MURRAY. A professional researcher advised that HENDERSON would have most likely had some previous dealings with those connected with Port Jackson Harbour
(eg. Robert WATSON? Robert MURRAY?), and this is how he may have known about Sarah MURRAY being an orphan.John WATSON (Sarah's uncle) also had land interests at Brisbane Waters in mid 1820s (Ref: Colonial Secretary's Index). Possibly John WATSON knew HENDERSON? When Sarah MURRAY married Henry Alexander SMITH (Ref: 1843 Vol 27C No.43), Robert HENDERSON was a witness to that marriage.
Robert HENDERSON was incorrectly named Robert ANDERSON on several occasions (Ref: book titled 'Ship Builders of Brisbane Water'). Our Sarah is actually named 'Sarah Rebecca ANDERSON', as the mother on one of her daughter's Death Certificate (Ref: 1886/6137). This would indicate that she grew up with the HENDERSON family as one of their own.
Robert HENDERSON also owned the Dove Hotel at Erskine and Sussex Sts. All of Sarah and Henry�s children were listed as being born in either Erskine or Sussex Sts. Sarah and Henry lived in a house owned by HENDERSON, only a couple doors from the Dove Hotel.
With the possibility(?) of Sarah DORSET/WOODWARD being the grandmother of Sarah MURRAY, this brings in another connection with Sarah living in Brisbane Water with the boat builder HENDERSON. James WOODWARD, son of Sarah
DORSET/WOODWARD, was another boat builder, and also lived in Brisbane Water about 1km from the HENDERSON's. Sarah DORSET/WOODWARD also lived with James WOODWARD.According to Sand's Directory, Henry was living at 9 Adlophus Street Balmain during the 1870's, with some of their children, but there is no record of Sarah.
Sarah's Funeral Notice which appeared in The Sydney Morning Herald on 24 December 1881 and read 'The friends of Mr. C H ALLMEY are respectfully informed that the funeral of his deceased mother-in-law, the late Sarah Smith will leave his residence, Miller Street, this (Saturday) morning, at half past 10 o'clock, to St. Leonards Cemetery. T. Higley, Undertaker, Blues Point Road'. There was no Death Notice.
On Sarah's Death Certificate her age is given as 63, whereas she would have been 59 at the time of her death. The ages of their children are incorrect also, as Henry 30, was 36, Robert 28, was 34, Rebecca 26, was 29 and Eliza 24, was 26. There is also no mention of our direct ancestor Emma, nor George Robert, however he died very young as an infant. It states 'one female dead' which would relate to Maria Elizabeth.
Sarah died of the same illness that caused the death of my ancestor James Carrell KEWN on 31 Jan 1867 (who is from a different ancestral line, being the great-great grandfather of my mother Yvonne, whereas Sarah was the great-great grandmother of my father Bryan). Phthisis [ty'sis] literally, means a wasting disease but almost invariably will mean pulmonary tuberculosis, any debilitating lung or throat affections; a severe cough; asthma.
Sarah was buried at St. Thomas Cemetery, St. Leonards. She has no headstone. Death registration reference : 1881/4327A

Henry was the son of John and Harriett ASHDOWN (nee SMITH). He was a butcher at 55 Druitt Street, Sydney and is listed in the Sydney Commercial Directory of 1858-1859 Sands Directory.
Druitt Street still exists to the present day. It runs from George Street, down to Cockle Bay, beside the side of Sydney Town Hall and the Queen Victoria Building in Sydney.
On their son Henry's Birth Certificate in 1861, Henry stated he was 37 years of age. Henry Jnr was born in Swan Street which also still exists today at the Haymarkets down near Darling Harbour, Goulburn Streets.
Henry and Mary Ann possibly had a family of sixteen children, accordingy to his death certificate. However I have only been able to locate registrations of the birth of four children, Harriett in 1858, who was mostly likely named after his mother, then our direct ancestor Henry William in 1861 who married Annie Louisa SADLER, Fanny in 1865 and Ada Mary Ann in 1870. Henry and Ada were the only children known to have survived infancy as Harriett, died in 1860 and Fanny died in 1865. Ada Mary Ann married Henry A (Snow) BYLES and they had a family of four sons.
According to Henry's 1907 Death Certificate, Henry resided in NSW for 60 years (arriving ca.1847) and he was 32 years of age at the time of his marriage to Mary Ann (in 1856 - born ca.1824). Ada BYLES stated he was 88 years of age (born ca.1819). Informant Ada BYLES, was Sister-in-Law of Daughter, No Relation, of Abattoir Road, Balmain South.

She had two older siblings, a sister Sarah (born in 1818) and a brother William (born in 1820). Although I do not know anything about her sister Sarah, her brother William also immigrated to Australia.
Mary Ann arrived in Australia in about 1855 according to information on her Death Certificate provided by her daughter Ada BYLES, also of Tacoma.
Her brother William had immigrated to Australia by 1845, as this is when he married Honor ANDERSON in Sydney at Reverend Dr. Lang's.
On their son Henry's Birth Certificate in 1861, her husband Henry stated she was 30 years of age (therefore supposedly born about 1831). Therefore it is possibly Henry and Mary lowered her age for assisted immigration or cheaper passage? However her age at the time of her death is given as 84 years, which is consistent with her actual birth in 1826.
Although Henry and Mary had at least five children, I have only been able to locate the birth of four :

Therefore both witnesses would most certainly have been related members of the family.
Thomas William SADLER was born 1 about 1840 in Sydney NSW Australia, although no record of his birth has been located. He married 2 Agnes McCREA on 15 Oct 1860 in the General Registry Office, Elizabeth Street, Sydney. Thomas resided on 15 Oct 1860 in Canterbury at time of their marriage. He resided 3 on 13 Oct 1878 & in 1880 in Samuel Street, Surry Hills, Sydney, Australia. It would appear that Thomas worked as a labourer most of, if not all, of his life, as he was employed as a Labourer at time of their marriage on 15 Oct 1860. He was still employed 4 as a Labourer at the time of their u=youngest child Emily's birth when he was aged 38 on 13 Oct 1878. [Parents]
Thomas was 19 years of age at the time of his marriage to Agnes, who was 17 years of age. Thomas signed with "x" his mark. The marriage took place two weeks after the birth of their first child. Witnesses to the marriage are Marcus S LOGAN and Thomas SADLER (possibly the father of the groom?). Thomas SADLER who was one of the witnesses also signed with his "x" mark.
At this stage Thomas and Agnes are thought have had seven children :

'Abigail Lane in Kingston. It runs from Campbell Lane to Kent Lane between Denison Street and Regent Street (now Probert Street) behind Abigail Terrace which fronts Denison Street. It would have been named after Alderman Abigail.
Albermarle (or Albemarle) Street follows the ridge line in Kingston and was formed prior to 1863.'

I know of one child born to James and Mary, Samuel William KEWN born 18 Mar 1849, my direct ancestor who also married twice like his father. Firstly to my direct ancestor Eunice Angela RILEY and secondly to Jane / Jean McKECHNIE. However, it is possible they were also the parents of a daughter? As an Ellen KEWN's birth was registered in West Derby, in March 1852 and a Mary KEWN's birth was registered in West Derby in Sep 1854.

I know of only one child born to John & Martha (in 1833). Possibly Martha died young and John remarried? As Valerie Miller replied via GenesReunited in Mar 2005 'My John Samuel Keen was the father of Elizabeth Rebecca Keen born 1841 in whitechapel who got married on the 1/6/1868 if he is the same one then he would be my great grandfather. I am not sure whether he is the same as their are 2 families as far as I know with very similar names both for the father and the children

On the 1864 Marriage Certificate of her daughter Elizabeth, the father's occupation is stated as 'William MOYLE, Miner'. Elizabeth did not marry and the father(s) of her other children are not known. Elizabeth had five children :
i. Elizabeth Jane WILLEY b. 14 Feb 1829, our direct ancestor married John KEEN.
ii. Charles WILLEY b. 1831 and his wife Elizabeth had two daughters, Elizabeth (1861) and Mary (1862).
iii. Mary Thomas WILLEY, b. 1840 in Mullion, Cornwall, England. She married James PEARCE.
iv. Eliza A (Lisa) WILLEY, b. Mar 1845 in Mullion, Penzance, Cornwall, England. She married Richard W WALLIS.
v. Grace WILLEY b. 1851 married John GILBERT and they had a daughter Lillian G GILBERT born in 1881.Charles was baptised on 17 Dec 1831 to Elizabeth WILLEY of Clahar. Trewoon and Clahar were neighbouring hamlets next to each other in a North West direction of the village of Mullion.

Page Number 4In the Mullion Parish Registers there is an entry for Elizabeth WILLEY the daughter of Joseph WILLEY and his wife Elizabeth JAMES and Elizabeth is baptised on the 28th September 1806. This Elizabeth (my ancestor) was buried in Mullion on the 28th January 1885. Her age was given as 77 years, but she was actually 79 years of age.
The death notice of her daughter Elizabeth for 20 Nov 1929 states her parents to be John & Bette (Elizabeth?) WILLEY. She had 3 sisters and one brother. Their names Liza WALLACE (Wallis?), Grace GILBERT, Mary PEARCE and Charles WILLEY (born 17 Dec 1831 in Mullion)..
Regarding her mother's maiden name being stated as Bette, apparently back in the turn of say 1800 and so on this would be highly unlikely, as this is a relatively modern twist to the name Elizabeth, just like Lisa, back then to shorten it would have been either Bessie or Betsey. ....As Elizabeth definitely had siblings Eliza, Mary, Grace & Charles in Mullion at this period, then she is definitely part of the family of Elizabeth WILLEY who was the unmarried spinster who lived at Trewoon
Family members inferred that Grace was also born in Mullion, Mary in Penzance and Charles in Camborne. (?)
Another WILLEY researcher has Elizabeth WILLEY (chr 28 Sep 1806) marrying Francis PASCOE on 11 Aug 1825 at Mullion?
Pat Banks, OPC in Mullion advised Elizabeth WILLEY married Francis PASCOE, farmer of Crowan, on 8th November 1825. (Note November not August). Their first child was Elizabeth baptised 6th November 1826 in Mullion. There are no other children so presume Elizabeth went home for the birth of her first child, which was not unusual in those days, and the rest of the children, if any, will be found in Crowan .I have checked the transcripts again and I still have only 2 illegitimate children to Elizabeth. However, we have established that this was another Elizabeth WILLEY and that we have the correct ancestry.
