Notes for Sarah Baker HALYARD
Son Ida’s death certificate lists name as Sallie Halyard, b. TN. Research in 2017 discovered the marriage of John J. Adams and Miss Sarah Halyard in 1863, and that Sarah Halyard of Montgomery Co, TN was the daughter of James Baker Halyard, explaining the Baker connection.
Son James’ death certificate lists name as Sarah Baker, b. KY, which was consistent with family tradition and Sarah’s consistent use of the initial “B.” As a result, this page displayed the name “Sarah Baker” from approximately 1998 to 2017, and that information had spread widely.
