Banning Genealogy: Sometime before 1701, perhaps as early as 1689, [John Banning] married for the second time, Abigail Niles, the widow of John Niles. She had two sons, John and Ambrose Niles, and perhaps also had 2 girls, Penelope and Abigail Niles. On June 11, 1701, John Banning and partners, Consider Tiffany (husband of Abigail Niles) and Ephraim Tiffany/Edward Mott (husband of Penelope Niles) purchased a large tract of land, about 1000 acres, in Joshua's Town, Lyme, CT.

NEHGR 106 contains a document in which Rose Helme attests that she was present at the marriage of Penelope Niles and William Tosh, as well as at the birth of their daughter who was now (1735) Penelope Holway.
