Richard Hull, ...the earliest known member of the family. A husbandman and miller. (The survey and rental of the Somerset Chantries 1548) His will refers to his "ghostly father " Sir William Sherewell, which indicates that he was baptized and that Sir William was his godfather. The records of St. Bartholomew's Parish at Crewkerne beginning 1558.
Richard's will was dated 10 Feb 1558/9 probated 10 Jun 1559. In his will he refers to Thomas the elder, and Thomas the younger. Wife Alice's will, there is no mention of Reynold or Thomas the elder, which leads to conclusion these were the sons of Richard's first wife.
