Robert Tomkins witnessed the will of William Gilbert of Warminster, 8 Jan 1749/50. The next week the following record is found: Silas McCarty of adjacent of Springfield. January 13, 1749/50. Proved May 1, 1750. Wife Sarah, son Carell and Bro-in-law Robert Tomkins, exrs.
To wife, plantation for life, then to all children, Carell excepted. Carell, 100 acres adj. Congregation of Baptists 1 acre on east side of tract where a Meeting House now stands.

Robert, or his son Robert, was witness to the will of Adam Erben in 1780 in Philadelphia. Robert Tomkins is also listed in the indext to "Colonial Families of Philadelphia" as a resident of that city in 1730. Jacob Tomkins is also frequently mentioned in Philadelphia and Montgomery County records.
Despite her Presbyterian upbringing, she married a Quaker and became a member of the Abington Monthly Meeting, where the births of their children are recorded.
[651]Named as “Lidy Tomkins” in her mother’s 1759 will, which is interesting given her death date. The abstract is unclear, though, and may refer to either granddaughter Lydia or the 3 youngest daughters of Lydia.
