"John Broughton of Windham - receipts from heirs under dates of 3/15/1730/1, 4/11/1732 and 5/10/1735, Hannah, widow; Humphrey Ballard and Hannah; Samuel Broughton of Windham; Azariah Colley and Abigail; Daniel Fuller and Mehitable of Branfield, Hamshire County, Mass; John Broughton of Ashford, and Mathew Fuller and Elizabeth, his wife, of Mansfield, Conn".
[research from William K. Storie] "Elizabeth does not appear in other lists of children of John Jr. THis may be Ester with a second husband; her first was James Brown of Brimfield."

[research from William K. Storie] "The family removed from Northampton to Deerfield in 1684 and it is recorded that Elizabeth (Woodruff) Broughton died there 1690-1691. However, the death of the first Mary appears in the Northampton Register of Deaths and it would appear that the family had returned there by that time. Frequent Indian raids upon early settlements along the Connecticut Valley in northern Massachusetts caused numerous families to retreat from that frontier and about 1696, John Broughton Jr. removed with his family to Windham County, Conn., where the last five children were born and where he died Jan. 5, 1731. His will, dated Aug. 2, 1728 was probated there. Elizabeth Woodruff, baptized April 2, 1654, age 2-5-x at Farmington,[Hartford], Conn., was the fourth child of Matthew and Hannah (Lambert) Woodruff. Hannah Allis, born at Hatfield,[Hampshire], Mass. Oct. 9, 1673 was daughter of John and Mary (Meekins) Allis. Her Grandmother Allis was slain at the Hatfield Massacre Sept. 19, 1677 and her sister Abigail captured and carried off to Canada."
