Notes for William Holbrook
Lived in St. John the Baptist, Glastonbury, Somersetshire, where he paid the subsidy in 1620. Will dated Dec. 11, 1625 and proved Feb. 1, 1625/6. The name of his wife and mother of his children is not known, but she may have been the Edith HOLBROOK who was buried at St. John the Baptist, Glastonbury on Jun. 11, 1612; that may also have been his mother. When William died in 1625 he divided his goods among his sons Thomas, John and William, his daughter Basell Holbrook, and his three grandsons (including Clement Weaver, Jr.). Clement Weaver, Sr. was one of the overseers.

William's ancestry is unconfirmed. However, there is a John Holbrook with a son William named in the will of Robert Holbrook of Queene Charlton in 1616. Thomas Holbrook of Norton Malrewarn, Somerset and his wife Edith both name a son John in their wills (Thomas 11 Jan 1571, Edith 12 Nov 1593?[34th yr of Q. Elizabeth]). [631]
