Bought land in Daviess Co 1850,1852. (BLM)

The agricultural census of 1880 shows them with 25 acres of improved land and 15 acres of unimproved land. The vaule of the farm is lsited as $140. THey had 5 horses, 3 milk cows, 3 other cows, 2 calfs born in 1879. 12 hogs, 30 chickes, 10 other foul. They made 50 pounds of butter, got 40 dozen eggs, 22 acres in corn that yielded 1000 bushels, 20 bushles of potatos, and 100 pounds of tobacco from one acre in 1879/80. They had two acres of apple trees.

An insurance form son Given filled out in 1903 states that Sid died of typhoid fever after a 5 day illness in 1900. It also indicates son William died of a 4 week typhoid illness at age 12. Given indicates he has no living sisters - one died at age 45 of typhoid, one at age 38 of pneumonia, and one (Mary) at 28 of typhoid. The first two are Sarah and Salista; it is unknown when Salista died, and Sarah was 41. [789]

Obituary: Gallatin Democrat, Thursday, May 15, 1890

Died, at home in LIberty tp., May 2nd, 1890, Mrs. Lottie McFee, wife of Mr. Samuel McFee, of cancer. “Aunt Lottie” as she was commonly called, was born Feb. 22nd, 1827 in Licking County, Ohio. She was married in Daviess County August 18th, 1845, to Samuel McFee. She was converted when quite young and lived a consistent Christian life until death. She told her friends she was not afraid to die, her only care was her little grand daughter who is now left along among strangers. She was the mother of six children three of whom still survive. An insurance form son Given filled out in 1903 indicates she died of breast cancer, which she had had for 3 years.
